UAE leaders have extended condolences to Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani following the death of his father, former Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his sympathy to Sheikh Tamim and the Al Thani family, offering prayers for the late emir and wishing his family patience and comfort.
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also sent condolences, describing Sheikh Hamad as a respected leader who was close to the people of Qatar and the wider region.
Other UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also offered their sympathies to Qatar’s leadership and people.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani died on July 12 at the age of 74. He ruled Qatar from 1995 until 2013, before voluntarily transferring power to his son, Sheikh Tamim.
During his leadership, Qatar experienced major economic and social transformation, with Sheikh Hamad widely recognized for shaping the country’s modern development and expanding its regional and global influence.
