Saudi, Egypt and Qatar Call for Regional De-Escalation

Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar have reaffirmed their commitment to easing regional tensions, with their foreign ministers condemning recent attacks targeting Bahrain and threats to maritime navigation during a series of phone discussions.

The talks focused on the latest regional developments and the need to strengthen diplomatic efforts to preserve security and stability across the Middle East.

During a call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to reduce tensions and return to dialogue as the preferred path to resolving regional disputes.

In a separate conversation with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prince Faisal reiterated the need to uphold the US-Iran agreement and support continued negotiations aimed at reaching comprehensive solutions that promote regional peace and stability.

The ministers also condemned the recent Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and warned against actions that threaten freedom of maritime navigation, underscoring the importance of safeguarding regional security.

Separately, Prince Faisal held talks with Mauritania’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, during which the two sides reviewed the latest regional developments and discussed issues of mutual interest.

The calls reflect continued diplomatic coordination among regional partners as they seek to contain tensions and encourage dialogue amid ongoing security challenges in the Gulf.
