Musandam Council Reviews Markets And Infrastructure Plans

The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate in the Sultanate of Oman has held its sixth meeting of 2026, focusing on development plans for markets, roads, and tourism facilities across the region.

The session, chaired by Sayyid Faisal bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, reviewed a range of proposals aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing public services in several wilayats.

Among the key discussions was a proposal to develop the old market in Khasab, also known as Al Hala Market, along with a review of animal feed pricing within the governorate.

Council members also examined development projects in multiple areas, including plans to upgrade Bukha to strengthen its role as an urban centre, improve the agricultural zone in Madha’s Al Mazari area, and dualise the Quroon Assayd–Khub Al Shamsi road in Dibba.

The meeting further addressed traffic congestion caused by heavy trucks in Khasab, as well as proposals to repair sun shelters at Qadi Beach to support tourism infrastructure.

Officials emphasised the importance of following up on public issues and implementing recommendations to support sustainable development and meet community needs across Musandam.
