The Turkish Embassy in Kuwait hosted a cultural event on Sunday celebrating the traditions and social significance of Turkish breakfast, bringing together diplomats, officials and business figures in Kuwait City.
The gathering, held at Namlı Gurme Restaurant to mark World Breakfast Day, aimed to introduce guests to the diversity and heritage of Turkish cuisine through a curated breakfast experience.
Turkish Ambassador Tuba Nur Sonmez said the tradition of Turkish breakfast reflects values of sharing, hospitality and social connection. She described breakfast tables in Turkey as spaces that encourage long conversations and strengthen relationships between family and friends.
Guests were served a selection of dishes representing different regions of Turkey, including cheeses, olives, honey, clotted cream, jams, pastries and traditional Turkish tea.
The event was attended by several diplomats and Kuwaiti officials, including representatives from cultural institutions, international organizations and the private sector.
Among those present were Kuwait National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters Director General Sheikha Alanoud Duaij Al-Sabah, UN Habitat GCC Office head Ameera Al-Hasan and Asia Cooperation Dialogue Secretary General Nasser Al-Mutairi.
The Turkish Embassy said the event formed part of broader efforts to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between Turkey and Kuwait through shared culinary traditions.
