Trump Says Iran Talks Progressing Toward Possible Deal

Donald Trump has said that talks between the United States and Iran are moving in a positive direction, suggesting that a potential agreement could be reached soon.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump struck an optimistic tone. “I hear the negotiation itself is going very well,” he said. “I think a deal is going to be made there. That’s going to happen pretty soon.”

His remarks come at a sensitive moment for US-Iran relations, as diplomatic efforts continue alongside wider regional tensions.

On the Iranian side, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said communication with Washington had not stopped, but stressed that progress remains limited.

“There has been no tangible breakthrough so far,” he noted, while confirming that diplomatic channels remain open.

The contrasting messages reflect a familiar pattern in US-Iran relations — cautious engagement paired with deep mistrust — as both sides continue to test the possibility of a renewed understanding.
