Oman Seizes Unsafe Pesticides in Al Jazer Inspections

Officials in Oman have carried out a market inspection campaign in Al Jazer, Al Wusta Governorate, targeting commercial outlets to ensure compliance with consumer protection and agricultural regulations.

The operation, described as CPA officials inspect shops in Al Jazer, seize non-compliant pesticides, was conducted in coordination with agricultural as well as municipal authorities as part of wider efforts to monitor market activity and safeguard public health.

Inspectors visited several shops to check products on display, verify quality standards, and ensure that goods met approved specifications. Authorities said the aim was to maintain fair pricing, strengthen oversight, and ensure a safe trading environment for consumers.

During the inspections, officials discovered pesticides that did not meet required standards and immediately confiscated them. Legal measures were taken against violations, with the products removed from circulation to prevent potential risks to public health.

The Consumer Protection Authority said it will continue joint inspection campaigns across markets, stressing that such operations are essential for improving regulatory enforcement and protecting consumers.

The authority reiterated that CPA officials inspect shops in Al Jazer, seize non-compliant pesticides reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen market supervision in line with Oman Vision of 2040, which prioritises safety, governance, and economic sustainability.
