Saudi Crown Prince, Macron Discuss Regional Security

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday, during which the two leaders discussed regional security developments and bilateral cooperation, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Talks focused on diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening stability in the region, as well as ensuring the safety and freedom of maritime navigation. The discussions come amid continued international concern over security risks affecting key shipping routes.

The meeting highlighted ongoing coordination between Riyadh and Paris on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest, reflecting broader efforts by both countries to maintain stability in areas of strategic importance.

In recent months, maritime security in critical waterways has remained a priority for global powers, particularly given disruptions affecting energy transport routes and commercial shipping in the region.

The discussion also comes as France and other European partners continue to engage in initiatives involving naval cooperation and mine clearance operations in strategic waterways to support safe passage for oil and gas shipments.
