Doha, Qatar – Commercial Bank has announced its partnership with the Tawteen Initiative, a national workforce localization program spearheaded by Qatar’s Ministry of Labor (MOL). The collaboration aims to align with Qatar National Vision 2030 by empowering Qatari nationals and supporting their growth within the banking sector.
To celebrate this partnership, Commercial Bank hosted a special event on December 26, 2024. The event, led by Khalifa Al Rayes, EGM and Chief Human Capital Officer, was organized by Mohammed Al Hammadi, Head of National Talent Development, alongside Ali Al Tajer, Project Lead of Learning and Development.
On January 15, 2025, the first group of Tawteen participants signed contracts to begin a comprehensive six-month training program at Commercial Bank. This program is designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in key banking fields, including Retail Banking, Operations, Human Resources, Banking Compliance, and Finance Essentials. The initiative’s goal is to equip Qatari professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the evolving financial industry.
Khalifa Al Rayes emphasized the importance of the bank’s involvement in Qatar’s long-term economic strategy. “We are committed to supporting Qatar’s growth by investing in national talent and fostering innovation within the banking sector,” he stated.
Mohammed Al Hammadi also highlighted the significance of the program in preparing Qatari professionals for leadership positions. “Our aim is to equip participants with the expertise required to excel in the modern financial landscape,” he noted.
The Tawteen Initiative is a crucial part of Qatar’s broader strategy to strengthen its workforce and enhance economic sustainability. By focusing on developing a skilled and competitive banking industry, the program is playing a key role in Qatar’s journey toward achieving its national vision.
