Qatar and Turkey Discuss Regional De-escalation Efforts

Qatar and Turkey have discussed strengthening bilateral relations and regional developments during a phone call between senior officials, according to Qatar’s state news agency.

Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a call from Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday, where both sides reviewed cooperation between the two countries and explored ways to further support and expand ties.

The discussions also focused on broader regional developments, particularly the situation surrounding the US-Iran ceasefire and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.

Both officials stressed the importance of continued mediation efforts and encouraged all parties involved to respond positively to diplomatic initiatives. They underlined that sustained dialogue remains essential to addressing underlying causes of regional disputes and preventing renewed escalation.

The talks reflect ongoing coordination between Qatar and Turkey, both of which have played active diplomatic roles in regional mediation efforts and political dialogue in recent years.

The Qatari side reiterated its position supporting peaceful solutions and de-escalation, emphasizing the need for agreements built on dialogue and long-term stability rather than short-term containment measures.

The call comes amid continued diplomatic activity involving key regional and international actors seeking to manage tensions linked to broader geopolitical developments in the Middle East.
