Egypt Iraq trade growth continued in 2025 as Egyptian exports to Iraq climbed to nearly $880 million, reflecting stronger commercial ties between the two countries. New trade estimates showed an increase of around 8 percent compared to export figures recorded in 2024.
Economic data indicated that Egyptian exports reached approximately $815.9 million last year. Rising demand across Iraqi markets helped push the value significantly higher in 2025. Analysts expect the upward trend to continue as reconstruction activity and consumer demand expand across Iraq.
Trade figures based on UN COMTRADE data showed that electrical and electronic equipment led Egyptian exports to Iraq. That sector generated around $159.76 million in trade value. Plastic products followed with exports totaling about $108.2 million.
Agricultural exports also maintained strong performance during the period. Edible vegetables and roots accounted for roughly $75.05 million in exports. In addition, fruits and nuts generated more than $51 million in trade value between the two countries.
The Egypt Iraq trade growth trend also extended into food manufacturing sectors. Processed food products recorded approximately $74.21 million in exports. Officials and analysts linked the increase to rising consumption demand and expanding trade cooperation between Cairo and Baghdad.
Other industries also strengthened their presence in Iraqi markets. Essential oils and cosmetic products contributed around $77.2 million in exports. Furniture and prefabricated building materials added another $51.09 million to overall trade activity.
Egyptian industrial products continue supporting several important sectors in Iraq. Iron and steel products remain essential for infrastructure and reconstruction projects across the country. Pharmaceutical exports also played a notable role, reaching nearly $36.5 million during the year.
The broad range of exported goods highlights Iraq’s growing dependence on Egyptian industries and manufacturing capabilities. Iraqi markets continue importing consumer goods, industrial materials, and healthcare products from Egypt at increasing rates.
The Egypt Iraq trade growth pattern has strengthened Iraq’s position among the top Arab destinations for Egyptian exports. Economic observers believe this partnership will likely deepen further in coming years as both countries seek stronger regional trade integration.
Reconstruction projects inside Iraq continue creating demand for imported products and construction materials. At the same time, population growth and consumer spending have increased the need for food, electronics, and healthcare supplies.
Trade experts say both governments could benefit from expanding cooperation in logistics, transportation, and industrial investment. Improved trade infrastructure may also encourage faster movement of goods between the two countries.
The growing trade relationship reflects wider economic cooperation efforts across the region. Analysts expect future agreements and market demand to drive additional export growth in sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, and consumer products.
