UAE-Korea art collaboration reached a new milestone with the conclusion of the “Tributaries and Visions” exhibition in Seoul. The event attracted over 75,000 visitors and showcased contemporary Emirati art across East Asia. Moreover, it strengthened cultural dialogue and highlighted creative exchanges between the two nations.
The exhibition ran from December 15, 2025, to March 29, 2026, under the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) in partnership with the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA). It featured 110 artworks by 47 artists, including 33 Emirati creators, marking the largest UAE art showcase in South Korea. This initiative served as a second phase of the ongoing institutional collaboration between ADMAF and SeMA.
During the four-month run, the exhibition presented six public programs that included dialogue sessions, workshops, and artistic events. These initiatives engaged audiences worldwide and encouraged discussion on regional and global artistic perspectives. Through this, UAE-Korea art collaboration enhanced international interaction and appreciation of Emirati contemporary art.
Two art publications were also launched as part of the exhibition’s public program. Co-curators Maya Khalil and Eunju Kim contributed essays highlighting the artistic trajectory and intellectual framework of the collaboration. The publications also serve as lasting references documenting the exchange of ideas between UAE and Korean artists.
Curators emphasized the exhibition’s role in exploring cultural encounters. Maya Khalil explained that true collaboration emerges from mutual interaction, not simple cultural transfer. Similarly, Kyung-Hwan Yoo noted that the exhibition and its publications complement each other, deepening understanding for audiences unable to attend in person.
Eunju Kim added that the project went beyond introducing Emirati art to Korea. It built a platform for converging cultural contexts and reinterpreting them through new perspectives. Through the exhibition and publications, audiences engaged with diverse artistic practices and multiple visions from both nations.
The UAE-Korea art collaboration demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to cultural diplomacy. While fostering artistic partnerships and creative exchange, the project strengthens human connections and positions Emirati art on the global stage. Through sustained collaboration, artists from the UAE and Korea continue to explore new paths of creativity and shared cultural dialogue.
