Oman’s emergency response in Oman successfully rescued hundreds amid heavy rainfall caused by Depression Al-Masarat. Authorities carried out coordinated operations across affected areas to ensure citizen safety.

The National Emergency Management Committee confirmed that 44 air sorties were conducted since the weather system began. Of these, the Royal Oman Police Air Wing carried out 38 sorties, while the Royal Air Force of Oman completed six. These flights enabled 58 separate rescue operations, including six critical medical evacuations. In total, 404 individuals were safely rescued from flood-affected areas, homes, and vehicles.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority responded to 254 emergency calls, working continuously to provide aid and evacuate residents. Officials emphasized that teamwork between agencies was vital for swift and effective operations. Authorities also reassured the public that the emergency response in Oman remains fully operational, with continuous monitoring of all regions affected by rainfall. They urged residents to follow safety instructions and avoid risky areas until waters recede.

Local teams worked tirelessly to clear roads and reach stranded individuals. Evacuations focused on high-risk zones where flooding threatened homes and essential services. Citizens were advised to remain indoors when possible and heed all guidance from rescue teams. The National Emergency Management Committee praised the dedication of rescue personnel. Officials highlighted that the collaborative effort between police, air force, civil defense, and ambulance teams exemplifies Oman’s commitment to public safety.

Furthermore, authorities are maintaining preparedness for potential secondary impacts, including landslides and disrupted transportation. They confirmed that resources, including rescue vehicles, medical equipment, and personnel, remain strategically positioned for rapid deployment. The emergency response in Oman demonstrated the country’s resilience and readiness to protect its residents. Authorities continue to coordinate efforts to restore normalcy and ensure safety in all affected areas.
