His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the 17th edition of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX 2025). The event is being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the importance of strong defense capabilities in ensuring national security, stability, and a promising future for the nation’s generations. He highlighted the progress made by the UAE’s defense industries in meeting military needs. This progress also contributes to the economy through localizing knowledge, creating specialized jobs, and increasing the global competitiveness of Emirati companies.
The UAE leader reaffirmed the country’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and driving innovation in various sectors. These efforts aim to achieve a secure and prosperous future for all. He commended the advances made by the UAE defense sector, which aligns with the broader strategic goals of economic development.
Sheikh Mohammed also acknowledged IDEX as a crucial platform for advancing global defense technologies. He emphasized the UAE’s role as a hub for innovation and strategic partnerships. These efforts aim to enhance security, promote peace, and foster sustainable development opportunities.
IDEX 2025 has grown significantly, with 1,565 companies from 65 countries participating. This marks a 16% increase from the previous edition. The exhibition area has expanded by 10%, totaling 181,501 square meters. Among the participants, 731 companies are debuting, an 82% rise. Additionally, 213 Emirati companies are showcasing their products, making up nearly 16% of the exhibitors.
During his tour, Sheikh Mohammed visited various pavilions. He explored advanced defense technologies at the Turkish pavilion and reviewed the latest systems and solutions at the EDGE pavilion. The exhibition is a testament to the UAE’s growing global presence in defense and security.
IDEX 2025 is organized by ADNEC Group, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Tawazun Council. It brings together top defense experts and companies to showcase innovations in military technologies. These include land and air combat systems, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
