Kurds Mobilize from Kurdistan Region to Support Rojava Amid Renewed Fighting

Kurds mobilize to Rojava after renewed fighting in northeastern Syria, and demonstrations erupted across the Kurdistan Region. Furthermore, residents of Sulaymaniyah, Kirkuk, and surrounding areas prepared buses and supplies to travel and support their Kurdish brothers and sisters. The mobilization reflects both urgency and solidarity among Kurds in Iraq and neighboring regions.

In Sulaymaniyah, young men and women gathered, ready to depart. Mohammed Salar, 20, from Chamchamal district, said, “It is time to go to Rojava and defend our Kurdish brothers. Being Kurdish is an honor.” He added, “I am ready to carry weapons and fight side by side because today is a day of unity.”

Meanwhile, Fuad Hassan, a student originally from Hasakah in Rojava and currently living in Sulaymaniyah, emphasized the urgency of action. “The Kurdish people face collective attacks now, and all Kurds must respond,” he said. “Artificial borders must not divide us.”

In addition, others traveling from eastern Kurdistan in Iran echoed the call for solidarity. “If we do not go to Rojava today, we cannot expect anyone else to help,” one participant told 964media. “Those in Rojava are our brothers and sisters. Today the war is there; tomorrow it may reach our homes.”

Also, a young man from Kalar said, “Being Kurdish is honor, and homeland is a mother. Everyone must unite to prevent injustice.” Video footage recorded by 964media showed buses ready to transport youths. One participant declared, “I am returning to Rojava to defend my nation.”

Similarly, preparations were observed in Kirkuk, where participants said they were heading to Rojava to defend dignity, honor, and life. They vowed to fight alongside their Kurdish brothers and sisters, demonstrating strong commitment to unity.

The mobilization followed widespread demonstrations across the Kurdistan Region. These protests were sparked by the collapse of a ceasefire and integration agreement in northeastern Syria. Moreover, the Syrian Democratic Forces called for public mobilization, prompting communities to act.

As a result, the ongoing mobilization emphasizes the resilience and solidarity of the Kurdish population. Consequently, as Kurds mobilize to Rojava, communities across Iraq and neighboring regions demonstrate their readiness to defend shared values, heritage, and the rights of Kurdish people in northeastern Syria.
