Builders VC Expands into Middle East with Doha Office, Partners with QIA

Doha, Qatar – Builders VC, a prominent early-stage venture capital firm specializing in transformative industries, has announced the opening of its first Middle East office in Doha, Qatar. The expansion comes in partnership with the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the country’s sovereign wealth fund.

Strategic Expansion in MENA

The new Doha office will serve as a regional hub, connecting high-potential startups, local entrepreneurs, and global investors. The partnership aligns with QIA’s commitment to supporting innovative technologies and modernizing industries. These include healthcare, agriculture, real estate, and industrial systems.

QIA stated that the selection of Doha as Builders VC’s regional headquarters underscores Qatar’s efforts to establish itself as a leading global technology hub.

Leadership and Vision

The office will be led by Tarik Sultan, Partner and Head of the MENA Region. He brings extensive experience in venture capital, AI, cleantech, and healthcare. Builders VC plans to expand its operations in Doha, fostering engagement with local innovators and entrepreneurs.

QIA’s Fund of Funds Initiative

QIA’s Fund of Funds venture capital program, launched in 2024, is focused on technology and healthcare. It aims to boost economic diversification and support local startups.

The Builders-QIA partnership merges QIA’s regional expertise and financial resources with Builders VC’s sector-driven investment strategy. Together, they seek to accelerate Qatar’s National Vision 2030, fostering a knowledge-based economy and a thriving technology ecosystem.
