Ronaldo Declares “I Am Saudi Man” as He Reflects on His Journey and Future in the Kingdom

Cristiano Ronaldo once again expressed his deep love for Saudi Arabia, calling the Kingdom his “second home.” Speaking at the Global Tourism Forum in Riyadh, he described his time there as “a unique and inspiring chapter” in his remarkable career. The Portuguese star proudly told the crowd, “I am Saudi man,” receiving thunderous applause from the audience.

Ronaldo’s Saudi football journey began in January 2023 when he joined Al Nassr. Since then, he has redefined what it means to be a global athlete in the region. His move marked the start of a new era for the Saudi Pro League and opened the door for world-class players to follow his path.

Moreover, Ronaldo’s Saudi football journey has been about more than the sport itself. He and his family quickly adapted to the local lifestyle, embracing the culture with genuine respect. His partner, Georgina Rodriguez, and their children enjoy living in Riyadh. Even Cristiano Jr. joined Al Nassr’s youth academy, which led to his selection for Portugal’s U16 national team.

In addition, Ronaldo actively takes part in national celebrations and embraces Saudi traditions. Fans admire his enthusiasm when he performs local dances after scoring goals, including the now-famous “Agal celebration.” These gestures have earned him the love and admiration of the Saudi people.

Since joining the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo’s presence has inspired global stars such as Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez, Marcelo Brozovic, and Sadio Mane to play in the Kingdom. He said proudly at the Riyadh forum, “Football here is growing very fast, and I’m proud to be part of this journey.”

However, as Ronaldo approaches 40, fans have begun to wonder about his future. During a video call at a global investment summit, he admitted that retirement might not be far away. “Maybe soon… or maybe in ten years,” he joked, smiling as the audience laughed.

Even so, he shows no sign of slowing down. Ronaldo continues to inspire young players, strengthen Saudi football’s global image, and expand his Saudi football journey with every match.
