Bahrain hosted the 22nd meeting of the GCC Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee in Manama. The event took place before the 19th regular meeting of GCC parliamentary leaders. It focused on boosting unity and expanding Gulf parliamentary cooperation among member states.

The Bahraini delegation included Sadiq Al Rahma from the Shura Council, Khalid Saleh Bu Anq, and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain. They represented Bahrain’s active role in regional coordination and political dialogue. The gathering showed Bahrain’s steady commitment to collective action across the Gulf.

During the session, Al Rahma highlighted Bahrain’s belief in strong regional unity. He said Gulf parliamentary cooperation plays a vital role in deepening ties and building mutual trust. According to him, cooperation among Gulf states leads to real progress in integration and shared development.

He added that the committee provides an effective platform for collaboration. It allows Gulf parliaments to share ideas, strengthen relations, and defend regional interests. Al Rahma also praised the sense of belonging that connects Gulf countries. He said their history, kinship, and shared vision make their partnership stronger than ever.

Furthermore, the meeting discussed several key topics. Delegates reviewed reports, recommendations, and agenda items for approval at the upcoming session. These discussions will help shape future parliamentary strategies and unify the Gulf’s collective voice.

The 19th regular meeting will take place on Thursday. It will focus on the role of Gulf parliaments in governing artificial intelligence. Participants will also explore ways to enhance Gulf parliamentary cooperation and promote joint initiatives. The session aims to support the Gulf’s plan to join the Inter-Parliamentary Union as an observer.
