Oman Celebrates National Day with New Two-Day Holiday in 2025

Oman will celebrate National Day in 2025 with a new two-day National Day holiday in Oman. Citizens and residents will enjoy festivities on November 20 and 21. The extended holiday encourages more participation in cultural events and family celebrations. It also highlights Oman’s independence, heritage, and national unity.

The Royal Oman Police (ROP) issued clear guidelines for using approved stickers on vehicles during the holiday. Residents can place stickers from November 5 to November 30, 2025. These rules ensure public safety and promote national pride while allowing citizens to decorate their cars responsibly.

The ROP clarified that drivers cannot change vehicle colors or shapes. Stickers must follow traffic safety regulations and cannot display the crown or Khanjar emblem. People must secure images properly and use only the rear window, ensuring an unobstructed view. The ROP also prohibits fabrics or decorations on the hood.

Starting in 2025, Oman will observe its first official two-day National Day holiday in Oman. Previously, the country celebrated National Day on November 18. Authorities expect the new schedule will help citizens participate in parades, cultural programs, and community events more fully.

A royal decree earlier this year amended the previous law on official holidays. The decree set November 20 and 21 as the official National Day. The decree appeared in the Official Gazette and took effect immediately. The change modernizes how Oman celebrates its most important national occasion.

Residents have welcomed the extra day, noting it allows more opportunities to join public celebrations and enjoy family time. Schools, businesses, and government offices will adjust operations to match the new holiday schedule. Local events will run smoothly, offering everyone a chance to celebrate safely.

Through this initiative, Oman promotes patriotism, strengthens social cohesion, and celebrates cultural identity. The ROP’s rules ensure safety while residents display national pride responsibly. The new holiday schedule reflects Oman’s commitment to unity, heritage, and organized public celebrations.

The country aims to make National Day both festive and meaningful. By extending the holiday and providing clear guidelines, Oman encourages participation while maintaining order. Citizens now have more time to enjoy events, honor the nation, and share the spirit of unity.
