Bahrain Strengthens International Ties to Promote Religious Freedom and Coexistence

Bahrain is taking active steps to highlight the impact of promoting coexistence and religious freedom across the region. The Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Coexistence and Tolerance met with the Special Representative of Cyprus for Religious Freedoms to discuss collaboration. This meeting reinforced the impact of promoting coexistence and religious freedom on international partnerships.

The discussion took place with the presence of the Director of the Coexistence Department. During the meeting, the Vice Chairman reviewed the strong ties and cooperation between Bahrain and Cyprus. He emphasized the Centre’s commitment to sharing expertise and strengthening partnerships to encourage peace and mutual respect.

The Special Representative of Cyprus expressed her appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts and the role of the Centre in supporting religious freedoms. She also highlighted the importance of dialogue among cultures and religions, and she wished Bahrain continued progress and success. The meeting underscored the impact of promoting coexistence and religious freedom in building regional stability.

Following the bilateral meeting, both representatives attended a regional gathering of Cypriot ambassadors accredited to the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf Cooperation Council. The session was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus. The Vice Chairman and the Director of the Coexistence Department presented Bahrain’s Centre and its initiatives. They outlined programs designed to promote a culture of coexistence at both regional and international levels.

The presentation emphasized how educational workshops, cultural exchanges, and collaborative programs foster understanding between different religious and cultural communities. Attendees discussed strategies to expand cooperation and share best practices. They also explored ways to strengthen regional peace initiatives through cross-cultural dialogue.
