More Rain Expected in Qatar as Unstable Weather Continues

Qatar

Several regions across Qatar witnessed scattered rainfall on Saturday, with meteorologists predicting continued precipitation through the middle of next week.

According to the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD), cloudy conditions persist across the country. These conditions are bringing intermittent showers, including in the capital, Doha. Forecasts indicate that rain will vary in intensity from light to moderate. Occasional thundery spells are also expected.

Authorities have also issued a marine warning due to the possibility of thunderstorms, strong winds, and rough seas. Wave heights are expected to range between 4 and 7 feet, with peaks reaching up to 10 feet.

Wind speeds inland are anticipated to be between 5 and 15 knots, with gusts reaching 21 knots in some areas. Offshore, winds may strengthen to 25 knots during periods of thundery rain.

In terms of temperatures, Al Karanah station recorded the lowest temperature on Saturday morning at 16°C. Meanwhile, Doha registered a slightly warmer 18°C.

The unsettled weather is expected to persist. Authorities urge residents to stay updated on forecasts and take necessary precautions. This is especially important in coastal and marine areas.
