Qatar Champions Global Cooperation at Paris Peace Forum 2025

Qatar reaffirmed its dedication to global peace and development through its strong participation in the 8th Paris Peace Forum. The event, themed “New Coalitions for Peace, People, and the Planet,” gathered world leaders, international organizations, and private sector representatives to address global challenges and rising tensions.

The Doha Forum and Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) played a leading role at the forum. Together, they co-hosted a high-level session titled “New Coalitions for Peace and Development: How Can We Address the Funding Gap?” This discussion emphasized the urgent need for new financial strategies that promote global peace and development, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected regions.

The session brought together experts and decision-makers from several countries and organizations. Participants also discussed innovative ways to support sustainable growth and peace efforts. They focused on building partnerships that connect public institutions, private investors, and philanthropic organizations. Through this dialogue, Qatar reinforced its position as a bridge-builder in the international community.

During the forum, the speakers highlighted the alarming reality that only 17% of the Sustainable Development Goals are currently on track. Therefore, the need for action has become more pressing than ever. They called for adaptive financing systems that attract new donors and promote inclusive global collaboration. These systems can create meaningful solutions for communities struggling with instability and underdevelopment.

Maha Al-Kuwari, General Manager of Doha Forum, explained that the world must move beyond promises toward measurable progress. She noted that the partnership with QFFD at the Paris Peace Forum reflects Doha Forum’s belief in practical cooperation across governments and sectors. This approach, she said, is essential for achieving global peace and development.

Meanwhile, Sheikha Haya Al Thani from the Qatar Fund for Development highlighted the importance of uniting efforts to face global challenges. She stated that true progress can only be achieved through shared responsibility, bold partnerships, and innovative financing.

Over, this year marks the third consecutive partnership between Doha Forum, QFFD, and the Paris Peace Forum. Through this ongoing collaboration, Qatar continues to demonstrate its commitment to international cooperation. By focusing on global peace and development, Qatar aims to build a more stable, inclusive, and sustainable world for all.
