Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Global Expands Horizons with New Tourism Venture in Italy

In a bold step toward global growth, Red Sea Global expansion continues to redefine the future of luxury tourism. The Saudi-based developer, known for its world-class resorts The Red Sea and Amaala, announced plans to launch a new tourism project in Italy.

During the Reuters Nexxt Gulf Summit in Abu Dhabi, CEO John Pagano revealed that the company has already finalized a deal for its first overseas development. He emphasized that Red Sea Global expansion reflects the firm’s ambition to move beyond the Saudi Arabian market while maintaining its signature commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Pagano noted that the upcoming project will showcase a concept that is “specific, unique, and synergistic” with the company’s existing operations. While the exact location in Italy remains undisclosed, the project will likely mirror the company’s successful coastal developments in Saudi Arabia. Those destinations, including The Red Sea and Amaala, are designed to create positive environmental and social impact through regenerative tourism.

Since opening its first property in November 2023, Red Sea Global has gained international recognition for blending environmental responsibility with high-end luxury. The company currently manages iconic resorts such as Shebara and Desert Rock, both of which set new benchmarks in sustainable hospitality.

Earlier this year, Red Sea Global inaugurated its hub island, Shura, which hosts 11 resorts, including the acclaimed Red Sea EDITION. Five more properties are expected to open by the end of this year, with an additional 17 scheduled for completion by May 2026. This rapid progress underlines the company’s determination to lead the global hospitality sector.

Furthermore, Pagano shared that he will join the board of NEOM, another of Saudi Arabia’s megaprojects. This move could pave the way for Red Sea Global expansion into NEOM’s Sindalah Island, strengthening the company’s role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s tourism transformation.

Luxury travelers today seek meaningful and sustainable experiences. Red Sea Global has positioned itself to meet this demand with resorts that protect natural habitats, preserve coral reefs, and harmonize with local environments. Its recent recognition by the Michelin Keys, awarding Shebara two Keys and a shortlist for the Global Architecture Award, highlights the company’s world-class standards.

Through Red Sea Global expansion, Saudi Arabia’s flagship developer is proving that luxury, sustainability, and innovation can thrive together—whether on the Red Sea coast or the Italian Riviera.
