GCC Praises Qatar and Turkiye’s Diplomatic Role in Pakistan-Afghanistan Ceasefire Agreement

The Gulf Cooperation Council praised Qatar and Turkiye for their strong diplomatic efforts in mediating peace between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The recent ceasefire agreement signed in Doha represents real progress toward lasting peace and stability in the region. This milestone offers hope for stronger cooperation and understanding between the two neighboring countries.

Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC, commended Qatar and Turkiye for their constructive diplomacy, describing the ceasefire as a meaningful step toward reconciliation. He emphasized that this achievement reflects the power of dialogue and collaboration in resolving long-standing disputes.

He also highlighted that the GCC strongly supports initiatives promoting regional peace and stability through peaceful negotiations and mutual understanding. According to him, the success of the Doha talks demonstrates the value of persistent diplomatic engagement in reducing regional tensions.

The agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan comes as both nations seek to strengthen trust and collaboration. The GCC sees this accord as a chance to create new channels of communication that foster sustainable progress.

Al Budaiwi noted that the GCC has long advocated for constructive dialogue across the region.
