Bahrain to Plant 100,000 Trees and Expand Green Spaces in Muharraq City

Bahrain green development continues to move forward with a new plan for Muharraq City. The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture announced projects that combine heritage preservation with environmental sustainability.

The plan includes planting 100,000 trees across Muharraq. Officials explained that the trees will improve the city’s climate while enhancing urban beauty. Shade trees will also bring comfort to residents and visitors while enriching neighborhoods with natural aesthetics.

In addition, the project features 72 green spaces with a total area of 12,000 square meters. These parks will promote environmental sustainability in the historic heart of the city. Authorities emphasized that the new spaces will serve both social and ecological needs.

Moreover, Bahrain green development focuses on preserving heritage landmarks. The initiative will protect old structures while blending them with modern planning. Officials stated that harmony between heritage and contemporary architecture is central to every stage of the plan.

The ministry highlighted that the project aligns with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. By balancing heritage with modern growth, the plan ensures sustainable progress. It will also foster a strong sense of identity while strengthening the city’s cultural role in the region.

Officials added that diversifying tree species is vital to suit local conditions. This approach improves resilience while supporting long-term sustainability. The project also aims to make public spaces more livable, reflecting the aspirations of citizens.

Furthermore, authorities stressed that environmental, urban, and social dimensions remain equally important. They pointed out that the initiative is not only about greening but also about building community pride. By revitalizing the city, the project will ensure continued prosperity for future generations.

Ultimately, the Muharraq City project represents a comprehensive national effort. It integrates heritage preservation, sustainability, and citizen well-being in one strategy. With careful planning and cooperation, the initiative will reaffirm Muharraq’s position as a cultural and environmental landmark.

In the long run, Bahrain green development demonstrates the kingdom’s commitment to protecting history while investing in a greener future.
