Bahrain Bourse Closes 9 Points Higher Amid Strong Trading in Telecom Sector

Bahrain Bourse closes 9 points higher, driven by strong activity in the telecommunications sector. The Bahrain All Share Index ended at 1,921.00, rising 8.99 points from Tuesday’s close. Similarly, the Bahrain Islamic Index gained 8.94 points, finishing at 812.00.

Investors traded a total of 1.44 million shares, valued at BHD 487.64 thousand. These transactions were spread over 101 trades. The telecommunications sector also dominated trading with shares worth BHD 219.14 thousand. This represented 44.94% of the total trading value. Volume for this sector reached 515.93 thousand shares across 15 transactions.

Among individual companies, Bayon led the market with trades valued at KWD 208,200. This accounted for 42.70% of the total traded value. Bayon’s volume reached 423,120 shares executed through eight transactions. Gulf Hotels Group followed, with trades worth KWD 58,260, representing 11.95% of the total value. Its volume was 129,280 shares across eight transactions.

Al Salam Bank ranked third, with shares traded at KWD 55,600. This represented 11.40% of the total traded value. The bank’s shares moved 249,710 units in 17 transactions. Overall, shares of 14 companies changed hands during the day.

Share prices of six companies increased, while one company’s share price declined. The remaining companies maintained their previous closing prices. This mixed performance reflected a cautious yet positive investor sentiment.
