Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani welcomed the GCC foreign ministers at Lusail Palace on Tuesday. Their visit aligned with the 49th extraordinary meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Amir thanked the GCC leaders for their visit. He also expressed appreciation for their firm condemnation of the Iranian missile attack on Al-Udeid Air Base. Moreover, he described the attack as a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law.
In response, the GCC foreign ministers strongly voiced their support for Qatar. They emphasized that such an attack endangered the collective security of the entire Gulf region. Additionally, they declared that aggression against one member threatens all members equally.
Importantly, the ministers reaffirmed that the Gulf’s security is indivisible. They clearly stated that unity is essential in addressing regional threats. Therefore, they pledged full solidarity with Qatar during this critical time.
The GCC foreign ministers also focused on strengthening joint cooperation mechanisms. During their discussions, they reviewed key political and security issues in the region. Furthermore, they examined ways to enhance economic integration and crisis response.
They highlighted that regional peace depends on cooperation, not confrontation. Consequently, they stressed the importance of diplomatic engagement and peaceful solutions to ongoing crises.
In addition, the ministers noted that stronger partnerships can prevent future conflicts. Through dialogue and collective action, the Gulf can maintain stability and resilience.
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani also joined the meeting. He praised the Council’s unity and emphasized Qatar’s commitment to regional collaboration.
