Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association Deepens

The Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association gathered in Muscat this week, aiming to push forward fresh cooperation between the two countries. The meeting, held on Monday at the Diplomatic Club, brought together representatives from both Oman and Bahrain. With bilateral ties at the heart of the agenda, participants explored ways to strengthen links across several sectors. In particular, they focused on deepening cultural, economic, and tourism-related partnerships. The Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association continues to play an important role in building these bridges.

Members prioritised elections for the association’s new leadership at this session. Rudaina Amer Al Hajri secured a second term as head of the board. Alongside her, Sheikha Jawahir Al Khalifa was chosen as deputy head. Members elected Dr Ahmed Said Al Jahwari as secretary-general and chose Ahmed Mohammed Al Ardi as treasurer. With the new leadership in place, the group hopes to drive its ambitious plans forward.

Leaders reshaped several of the association’s committees to better reflect current priorities. Abdullah Saleh Al Shanfari will now chair the Economic Committee. The Membership and Affiliation Committee will be led by Manar Malallah Al Balushi. Meanwhile, Maryam Ghalib Al Alawi takes charge of the Communication and Media Committee. Heading up the Programmes and Events Committee will be Shihab Ahmed Al Mujaini, with Ismail Al Ajmi leading the Sports Committee.

During her address, Rudaina Al Hajri emphasised that the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association remains committed to promoting stronger ties. According to her, new initiatives will foster deeper connections between the people of both nations. These efforts aim to celebrate shared values and cultural heritage, while also encouraging economic growth. In the coming months, the board plans to launch a raft of new programmes. Both public and private players will play a role in bringing them to life.

Looking ahead, the Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association plans to maintain momentum. Leaders expect future meetings to further expand collaboration opportunities. As the relationship between Oman and Bahrain evolves, new ideas will continue to emerge. In this spirit, the association remains a driving force behind bilateral engagement. And for now, all eyes are on how the next phase of cooperation will unfold.
